We’re an all-metal recycling yard open to the public. Whether you’re cleaning out a garage, finishing a remodel, or dropping off leftover materials from a job, we’re here to help.

We re located on 20th Ave. & Williams St., at the end of the cul-de-sac. You'll see our large brown gates and signage. You can park in the cul-de-sac or drive right in if it's open.

Have your ID ready and one of our staff will assist you in weighing your materials and get you paid quickly.

If you are bringing a refrigerator in particular, and the coolant was removed or escaped, the EPA requires us to provide you with this form, which you will need to fill out before we can render payment.

What Metals Do We Buy?

We buy most ferrous (magnetic) and non-ferrous metals.

Ferrous Metals (Magnetic)Steel, cast iron, rebar, sheet iron, motor blocks, rotors, drums, appliances (non-Freon), bushings, turnings, and similar iron/steel materials.

Non-Ferrous Metals (Higher Value)

Copper (wire, tubing, pipe, bus bar)
Brass (yellow & red, fittings, plumbing)
Aluminum (cans, sheet, cast, extrusions, wheels)
Stainless steel
Lead
Electric motors & heater cores
Certain batteries (lead-acid)

Tip: Separate materials when possible. Clean, sorted loads almost always pay better than mixed loads.

Copper.

We love copper and would like to buy it from you. Copper is a valuable material that we can give the best prices on anywhere in the valley. If you think you might have some, here are a few examples that we happily accept:

Ferrous.

The atomical label for Iron is FE. FErrous metals contain Iron, so simply stick a magnet to it to check. If it's sticks it's ferrous.

Appliances (non-Freon,) Bushing Rotors, Rebar, Sheet Iron, Steel Chips, Shavings, Turnings, Cast Iron, Motor Blocks.

Non-Ferrous.

Non-Ferrous metals, are not magnetic. The most common of which are aluminum and copper!

Examples of the different non-ferrous metals we accept at RZR Recycling include:

Copper, Aluminum (Cans, Shavings,) Brass Wiring, Lead, Stainless, Batteries, Wheels, Electric Motors, & Heater Cores.

Aluminum.

Aluminum is one of the most commonly recycled things. Keep in mind how much aluminum you encounter every day that's recyclable. Foil, Cans, candy wrappers. The list is immense!

Examples of Aluminum we accept at RZR Recycling include:

Solids, Cans, Shavings, Foil, 6061 & 6063 (plates,) Litho (sheets,) Cast Aluminum parts and bits.

Steel.

Steel is a carbon/iron alloy. It's very strong, and cost effective which makes it perfect as a building material. You probably come across a lot of steel that you can bring to us every day!

Examples of Steel we accept at RZR Recycling include:

Sheet, Prepared (dense material that things such as gears are typically composed of,) Unprepared (things like pipes or rebar,) Engine Blocks, Bushings, Cast Iron Rotors / Drums.

Brass.

Brass is a copper/zinc alloy.

Examples of Brass we accept at RZR Recycling include:

Fittings, Instruments, Yellow Brass, Red Brass, Brass Plumbing.

REFRIGERATORS & OTHER APPLIANCES CONTAINING COOLANT

RZR will accept your scrap refrigerators and other appliances. However, to remain EPA compliant, you must complete this form if the unit is empty of coolant.

What We Do Not Buy

To keep the yard safe and compliant, we do not accept:

Catalytic converters
Microwaves
CRT or flat-screen TVs/monitors
Paint cans with wet paint
Motors or tanks with oil, gas, or other fluids
Propane tanks, gas tanks, or any sealed cylinders
Hazardous materials
Cardboard, glass, or plastics (metals only)

Payment Rules (Arizona Law)

Cash payments for private individuals are limited to $300 or less.
Amounts over $300 are paid by check made out to the name on the ID.
A valid government-issued photo ID is required for all non-ferrous transactions.

Where are you located?

22380 N 20th ave, Phoenix AZ 85027. We are off of Williams Between Pinnacle Peak and Deer Valley roads. One street west from 19th ave off Williams.

What are your hours?

Our hours are currently 8am to 3pm weekdays and 8am to 12pm on Saturdays. We are closed Sundays. Hours are subject to change seasonally so it's always a good idea to call ahead, 623-869-0021

Do you pay cash?

AZ law allows for $300.00 and under to be paid in cash. Any amount over that by a private citizen will be paid by check issued to the ID provided only.

What materials do you purchase?

We purchase most types of metals. Some examples would be steel, aluminum, copper, brass, stainless, and lead acid batteries. This is not a complete list so feel free to reach out with questions on your material.

Do you purchase appliances?

We purchase most appliances with the exception of microwaves. We accept Refrigerators but do not pay for them.

Do you purchase Catalytic converters?

Simple answer, NO. We do not wish to contribute to the scourge of thefts happening.

Do you purchase cardboard, glass, or plastics?

No, we are metals only

Do you pick up junk?

RZR only picks up AC units or bulk metal scrap from our industrial accounts.

If you have quantities of scrap as a business you can reach out to us to see if it makes sense to start a pick up service for your material. We do not pick up scrap for the public such as appliances, nor do we do clean up jobs.

Do you purchase E-scrap?

We purchase computer towers, laptops, mother boards, and memory sticks. We do not purchase accessories like keyboards, mice, and printers. HOWEVER, you can cut the cords from these items for purchase as 35% insulated copper wire.

What do I need to bring with me to sell scrap?

You will need a govt issued ID like a driver's license, Passport or ID card.

What materials do you not buy?

We do not purchase anything considered hazardous waste. Some examples would be Paint cans with wet paint still inside, barrels with flammable liquids, motors with oil or gas still inside, gas tanks, propane tanks, or any sealed cylinder. We also do not purchase microwaves, chain link fencing, or steel wire. We do not purchase CRT screens or flat screens.

I am a business, may I be paid in cash?

If you register with us as an industrial acct and provide the needed information there are no limits to cash payments. Those requirements include your tax ID and a list of approved employees who can scrap under the company name.
